A K Antony for Defence Minister?

still half asleep, fetching the newspaper today morning, i had to take a second awed look, to get to terms with the news. as chief minister of kerala for four years during the last legislature, he passed off as a total coward, that his successor, Ummen Chandy had in vain sought to make up for.
Hmm, maybe with all those scandals running through in the Defence ministry, the Defence minister could really do with a 'Mr. Clean' image..
and yeah, any guesses why he is got through?
oh yeah maybe the Mr. Clean image and maybe his uncanny ability to deliver nehruvian bullshit and gandian crap.

So Do we at all need Traffic lights in a Democracy?

This video sort of challenges directly, an earlier post of mine in a different blog of mine, 'Do you need traffic lights in a Democracy?'. In the blog i had sarcastically argued that in a democracy, where its citizens are assumed to be rational enough to choose its leadership and influence macro policy decisions, there would be no scope for such civil regulation since citizens are assumed to be rational.
